Organic and edible turmeric essential oil. Its benefits and smart ways of uses.

Occasioned by our new delivery, we decided to say a few words about organic turmeric essential oil, which we don't often come across, for an easier, practical use and integration into our daily life.

How is turmeric essential oil obtained? From the steam of the distillation of turmer-ic root. The essential oil has two unique chemical components, Turmerone and ar-Turmerone. It is used both internally and aromatically.

As a key herb in traditional Ayurvedic medical practices, turmeric root and its es-sential oil have a long history of beneficial properties that are pretty much known to all of us.

Let's get straight to the point!

It is also suggested as a metabolism booster. Add 1 drop of essential oil to a glass of water or drink of your choice.

It enhances skin health. As surprising as it may seem because of the intense color it leaves, it helps to whiten the skin but also promotes skin health. Its topical use has been shown to reduce the appearance of facial hyperpigmentation, as well as fine lines and wrinkles or even as a face mask for a healthy and glowing complexion. With its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it can also be useful as a natural acne treatment. Just remember that you should use a very small amount of diluted turmeric (in some oil) to avoid temporarily staining your skin. Add one to two drops to facial cleansers, skin lotions, serums and masks for extra antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action. To support oral hygiene, add 2 to 3 drops to a spoonful of virgin coconut oil and brush thoroughly for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

It relieves depression and anxiety. Turmeric essential oil is considered a powerful relaxant and balancer and studies have shown that it can help against two extremely common mood disorders, depression, and anxiety. As a result, it can improve mood and positive emotions. To improve mood, drop one to two drops of essential oil on your fingers and inhale or apply 1-2 drops to your forehead, over your solar plexus and on your feet.

After vigorous activity, mix it with some base oil for a relaxing massage. Nice combinations could be with essential oils such as ginger, cinnamon, orange, grape-fruit, Ylang-ylang, vanilla, cardamom and for the more adventurous, chili essential oil!

Helps reduce the symptoms of arthritis. Its active ingredients are known to pre-vent inflammatory conditions. Make your own massage oil by diluting five drops of turmeric essential oil with five drops of your choice of oil (such as jojoba or coconut oil) and apply it to areas that are bothering you. Also apply topically to the stomach to relieve indigestion and gas.

It helps prevent neurological conditions. Studies have shown that turmerone, a major bioactive compound in turmeric, inhibits microglial activation. Microglia are a type of cell found throughout the brain and spinal cord. Microglia activation is an indicative sign of brain disease, turmeric essential oil contains a compound that stops this harmful cell activation is extremely useful for preventing and treating brain disease.

It improves liver health. It is known in holistic medicine for its ability to help im-prove liver’s health. The liver is the most vital detoxification organ, and its condi-tion affects the entire body. Studies have shown that it is protective of the liver, which is partly due to its anti-inflammatory activity.  

It helps the body to recover from a common cold. The anti-inflammatory and an-timicrobial ability of essential oil can be helpful for the nasal decongestion that usu-ally accompanies the common cold. Simply add a few drops (2-3) to an aromathera-pist or a bowl of warm water and inhale the vapors to quickly relieve a stuffy nose. Inhaling turmeric essential oil also helps fight the germs that caused the cold 

Even in very small concentrations it fights common fungal infections. Apply dis-solved in water (one part oil to 2 parts water) and apply directly to the affected area alone or in combination with propolis tincture and tea tree essential oil.

For all these properties add a drop of essential oil to water or mix a drop of turmeric with a teaspoon of honey or a smoothie. This is an easy alternative to turmeric capsules or turmeric powder.

                                         

As a beverage it is also known as "liquid gold". Make your own drink with 1 cup of plant milk (warm), 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 drop of turmeric. (or our ready-made turmeric latte mix). Add a little ginger and/or black pepper for even better absorp-tion. It is a beverage that improves your overall health, whether by reducing inflam-mation, helping digestion, improving heart health, or strengthening bones.

In cooking, 

add color and flavor to your dishes by adding a small amount (1-2 drops) to season-ings or during cooking. Take advantage of its subtle spicy and peppery taste by add-ing a drop or two to omelets or plain rice and soups. You can also add it to sautéed greens instead of pepper. The bonus to cooking with turmeric oil is that it allows us to reap all the internal benefits of turmeric oil as well!
