Spring allergies, what they are caused by and how we can treat them!

As we mentioned in our previous article, spring is the season of green and liver. It is also the season of the wind element (wood) where everything moves upward and outward. So along with the blossoms, the allergies are blooming!

Many of us experience seasonal allergies in the spring as the pollen count increases quite a bit in nature during this time...

In one way, the allergy may be an attempt by the body to eliminate what it has accumulated during the winter.

And more specifically hay fever or spring allergy is in essence caused by an im-mune reaction to an external allergen. It is unknown why the body reacts in this hypersensitive way. Is the allergy due to an allergen or to some internal function activated by it? It's a classic case of "egg and chicken"! It is probably due to a whole range of different causes which can be from genetic (hereditary) effects to an unhealthy lifestyle. If the lifestyle is right and the internal environment is in harmony, a genetic weakness may not even manifest itself.

To take care of and relieve these symptoms we use the following mixture of a drink called Spring Allergy, which contains elderberry, euphrasia, solidago and agrimony.

The elderberry and solidago have primarily anti-cellular activity in this blend, the euphrasia enhances the venom and is known primarily for eye relief as its name suggests (eyebright)! Finally, Agrimony also has astringent action to tighten tissues and reduce catarrh.

It is advisable to start drinking the mixture early, ideally it is suggested 1 month be-fore symptoms start because its tonic and antiallergic properties need time to take effect.

During the allergy period it is essential to help the body to detoxify gradually and gently.

Avoid foods rich in moisture such as dairy products, foods rich in gluten and white refined sugar, and enrich with vitamin C and garlic either fresh or dried.

Other methods to relieve symptoms:

1. Combination of cypress essential oil and hyssop

2.  Consumption of linseed oil due to the fatty acids it contains. Either in oil or in liquid capsule. Black cumin oil is also very effective.

3. With creams or beeswax creams that you can put internally in the nostrils if indi-cated, thus filtering the inhalation but cleansing it at the same time. See eucalyptus balm.

4. For decongestion prepare a warm bath with salts or even simple baking soda and essential oils of eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary, lemon, or a combination of these. Lavender can also be added to help with relaxation.

5. The same essential oils can be burned in your room.

6. Hydration!  Another important way that soothes allergy symptoms is to stay hy-drated. Drinking plenty of water will help with the fine mucus. Nettle tea is also a great beverage for those suffering from allergies, as it is thought to act as a natural antihistamine.

With simple practices and tips, find what works best for you and allergy season can be much easier, allowing you to enjoy spring to the fullest!
