Medicinal use: Stimulates the immune system and improves resistance to infections. Can be used locally or systemically to protect against infection and helps repair tissue damage.

It stimulates macrophages and other cells of the innate immune system, causing them to become activated and release cytokines. Increases in phagocytic activity and the uptake of foreign particles also result following exposure of the immune cells to Echinacea.

Warnings: Theoretically, one should be careful when giving the plant to those suffering from autoimmune syndromes. The plant  may increase the level of certain drugs in the blood (calcium channel blockers and protease inhibitors). 

Organic Elderflower -Sambucus Nigra

Medicinal Actions: mild diaphoretic, mild laxative, diuretic, alterative, demulcent, antirheumatic, antispasmodic, anticatarrhal, caminative, emetic, anti-inflammatory.

Medicinal Uses: Is specific for the treatment of colds, and other acute infections with fever and hot dry skin, headache and nausea, rhinitis, asthma, croup, hay fever, conjunctivitis, rheumatism, pharyngitis, tonsilitis, and stomatitis. Sambucus flowers have anti-catarrhal action. The high content of vit. C in Sambucus berries potentiate these effects on collagen and mast cells.

It is defined as a gentle and non-toxic plant, suitable for use for extended periods of time, even in children.

Warnings: There are no known side effects or contraindications when using medicinal doses of the plant's flowers. Care must be taken when combining the plant with drugs from the barbiturate family, due to the increased activity of these drugs, which is manifested in the shortening of the onset of effect and the prolongation of the induced sleep time.
