The seed oil is produced by cold pressing the fruits of the pomegranate. It is one of the most valuable, sought-after and expensive oils in the world. It takes about 200 kilos of fresh pomegranates to produce just 1 litre of oil. It is extremely nutritious and rich, for internal and external use in cosmetics and for medical purposes.
Pomegranate oil has a distinctive and fairly intense fragrance, is very viscous and has a yellow-golden colour. Pomegranate oil has a strong antioxidant effect. Fights effectively free radicals in the skin and therefor it is considered one of the best natural ingredients to fight the signs of skin aging as it restores the moisture balance of the epidermis which make it considerably more smooth and elastic. It contains extremely rare fatty acids (punicic up to 65% and ellagic acids) which are believed to have beneficial effect on human skin.Thus, pomegranate oil is considered to contribute decisively to skin tightening, moisturising, balancing its pH, improving elasticity of the skin and fighting wrinkles.
