Hazelnut Oil

Latin name: Corylus Avellana Seed Oil

Hazelnut oil is cold-pressed oil of the hazel tree’s seed: the hazelnut. It is rich in vitamins A, B, D and E, calcium, potassium and magnesium, trace elements, proteins and fatty acids. It is an especially astringent oil, toning for the circulation with beneficial properties for the care of mixed and oily skin and the treatment of acne. It is the perfect base oil to add essential oils to, since it enhances their properties without blocking their effects. In skin care products, it immediately helps to tighten and soften the skin. 

Its best known properties: 

Moisturizing and softening properties: Hazelnut oil acts on the skin as an excellent moisturizing and softening oil, because it contains a number of essential fatty acids like linoleic acid. Therefor it is widely used in treating dry skin and contributes to its elasticity.

Antioxidant properties: Antioxidant vitamin E helps solve many problems related to skin aging. Free radicals cause the biggest damage, like cell destruction and chapped skin. Its daily application can delay the aging process by neutralizing free radicals. 

UV protection: Hazelnut oil can be used as a sunblock as it can filter damaging sun radiation. Therefor most sunblock products contain hazelnut oil. For highest protection against the sun, you can combine this oil with sesame oil, avocado oil and coconut oil. 

Toning and antibacterial properties: Helps tighten the pores and balance sebum production, which make it ideal for the treatment of oily skin, seborrheic dermatitis and acne. Thanks to its antibacterial action, it is an effective natural treatment for chapped lips, stretch marks, scars etc.

Hair care: Helps rejuvenate hair that has been damaged due to coloration.
